The Filling Lab
How the Process Works
Why a defined workflow matters
Contract manufacturing only works when both sides know what happens next. These steps are how we de-risk your first run, align packaging and product behaviour on real equipment, and keep batch records honest from trial through to dispatch.
Each step below pairs a short summary with a reference still and, where useful, a short reel - So a buyer or technical reviewer can scan the whole workflow without needing a site visit first.

Step 1
Technical Consultation
Before anything moves on the line, we confirm your formulation is safe, compliant, and ready for manufacturing - Not just workable in a kitchen or small lab.
Mixing by hand in a kitchen or small lab is not the same as using high-shear equipment to achieve stable, repeatable finishes at scale. If you already have a locked formula or recipe, we can move straight to compatibility and trials.
If your recipe still needs refinement from small-batch mixes, we help develop it to factory production standard. We typically supply up to three pre-production samples for sign-off before we schedule mass production.

Step 2
Compatibility
Before a single drop is filled, we analyse the technical requirements of your product, your packaging, and how they behave on our lines.
- Viscosity Analysis - We dial in pump and fill settings from thin, aqueous liquids through to high-viscosity pastes.
- Component Check - Bottles, caps, and seals are verified against our Precision Filling and capping equipment.
- Safety Review - Protocols for volatile, flammable, or otherwise hazardous materials are agreed up front.
A short walkthrough of intake checks and line clearance - The small confirmations that stop a viscosity surprise on day one.
Step 3
High-Shear Blending & Trials
We run controlled trial batches so the full production run is predictable, not a learning exercise on your stock.
Trial run - A small-batch test calibrates shear, temperature, and fill parameters for your product, from low volumes up to multi-litre pilots where needed.
Sample approval - We confirm Fill Accuracy, seal integrity, and capping torque against your specification before full production is released.
A trial batch on the high-shear line - Shear speed, temperature, and fill parameters dialled in before full production is released.

Step 4
Precision Production & Segregation
Our Bolton facility is zoned so different product families stay physically and procedurally separated - Cross-contamination is designed out, not hoped away.
- Dedicated suites and workflows so unrelated products are not run back-to-back without clearance.
- Batch documentation and traceability - Structured records and in-process checks you can share with customers and auditors.
- In-line labelling - Accurate labels and batch coding applied on the line so finished goods are retail-ready.
A floor walkthrough - Segregated suites, in-process checks, and in-line labelling running as one connected production step.
Step 5
Quality Check & Dispatch
We do not just fill bottles - We protect your reputation at the point of release and handover to logistics.
- Final inspection - Every batch receives a structured visual and weight check before release.
- Secure packing - Outers, palletisation, and documentation prepared for your carrier or ours.
- Ready to scale - Once your master profile is agreed in our system, repeat orders and volume ramps stay straightforward.
