Blending & Mixing

High-Shear Technology for Stable, Industrial-Grade Emulsions

Many brands start by mixing small batches by hand. Scaling up needs a different level of precision. At our Bolton facility we bridge the gap between home-made and retail-ready with Silverson-class high-shear technology - So your product stays stable, consistent, and professional for its full shelf life.

Silverson High-Shear In Practice

Standard mixers mostly move liquid around. High-shear work draws material into the mixing head and shears it through a precision-engineered stator at very high peripheral speeds - The difference between “looks mixed” and stays mixed months later.

That matters for emulsions, pigmented systems, and anything where separation or grit would destroy premium positioning.

High-Shear Mixing Excellence

  • Perfect emulsions - We bond oil and water phases that would normally separate.
  • Agglomerate reduction - Powders and pigments are broken down for a smooth, grit-free texture batch after batch.
  • Viscosity control - From water-thin fragrance to thick honey-style blends, Silverson high-shear heads let us manage shear speed accurately.
  • Precision speed control - We manage vortex speeds to limit aeration and foaming so bottles are filled with product, not trapped air.

Using Silverson technology and different mixing heads for different applications we can eliminate aeration.

Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Control

High-shear work is not only about the head - It is about how fast the motor runs for your viscosity. We use variable frequency drive control to ramp speed, limit vortex, and keep emulsions stable from trial through production.

  • Variable frequency drive (VFD) control - Motor speed tuned to viscosity and head type instead of a single fixed RPM.
  • Repeatable batch settings - Speed profiles logged and reused so trial batches scale without surprise separation or foam.
  • Transfer and shear coordination - Pump and mixer drives adjusted together so bulk moves cleanly from vessel to line.

What We Mix

Our lab is set up for versatility across categories:

  • Fragrance & Cosmetics - Perfumes, beard oils, facial serums, and essential oil blends.
  • Food & Consumables - Infused honeys, flavoured syrups, sauces, and liquid supplements.
  • Industrial & Automotive - Lubricants, detailing chemicals, varnishes, and cleaning solutions.

New product development (NPD) & Scaling

Bringing a new product to market is not only about filling - It is about a formula that survives scale-up. We help you perfect the batch before you commit volume.

  • Formula stabilisation - Refine recipes so they survive manufacturing and stay shelf-stable.
  • Small-batch trials - Test blends before a large run to lock texture, scent, and consistency.
  • Sample production - High-quality samples for internal testing or buyer meetings.

Zoned production

We operate a high level of zone separation between batches. We have dedicated areas and lines for food production, automotive production, pharmaceutical production and cleaning product production. We also have zero contact lines, which means your product will be the only product to ever touch that flow line. We also maintain strict SOPs and mechanical strip downs after every run to ensure we adhere to our goal of zero contamination across batches.
